Blue & Green by Katie Brightbill

For him. || For home. || For me

I'm not sure what it is about January, but I love the blues and greens every year around this time. They're bright enough to say "hey, I'm ready for spring!" but not saying "I think it's summer around here even though it's only 40 degrees," you know? Got a few favorites for everyone here today.

We're still battling fevers and stuffy noses here, but I think we're on the upswing (fingers crossed!)... More for ya tomorrow!

XO,
Kate

Easy-Going Day by Katie Brightbill

Today we spent some time with Gramma-- picked some lemons, explored the backyard, and ate far too much food and drank far too much coffee.

Sophie insisted on wearing her "princess hat," dubbed so because of a small bow on the side

(anything that remotely resembles girly is called "princess). Maggie got new polka dot leggings (clearance @ Target!!).

Life is extremely good when you're a little kid and you get to pick lemons at gramma & papa's house... and you literally make lemonade out of lemons. :)

XO,

Kate

Sophie: sweaterleggings (similar), (hat no longer available)

Maggie: shirtleggingsboots (scarf no longer available)

Basic Boys' Wardrobe for the New Year by Katie Brightbill

I don't have boys of my own, but I don't want to leave them out when I do little wardrobe picks, either! Here's what I love best for the little guys right now... (I'm really feeling the reds and blues right now, obviously... and if you haven't checked out the girls' picks, you can find them right HERE).

New Year's Basic Girls Wardrobe by Katie Brightbill

I like to have a little game plan when I shop for kids in a new year. It's important to have a bit of a strategy, and figure out what how things will pair together when you start shopping for kids. The last thing you want are sweaters or dresses that only go with one other item in the closet! If I were to start from scratch for my little girls, these are the pieces I love... together and apart!

Small Style: Stripey Neutral by Katie Brightbill

Stripes are the best. Polka dots give stripes a run for their money sometimes, but when all is said and done, stripes win. It's the classic look, worn by all. I think sometimes it like any pattern on a jacket isn't going to be versatile enough, but in reality, a striped jacket is one of those fantastically better neutrals.

Stripes are good. And so is the fact that it was supposed to rain today, and instead we just see blue skies. Time to get out and enjoy!

XO.
