So Good: Juniorbeads by Kate Brightbill

IMG_0056.jpg

Hello, beautiful colors. Hello, JuniorBeads

Accessories are the best. Are you with me? They take the most basic outfit and step it up five notches, and add impact... at a fraction of the cost of buying more clothes. Sophie is an accessories queen, like many 4-year-olds around. There is no such thing as enough color; meanwhile, Maggie couldn't care less about color, but bracelets are thrilling for her. She walks around with her hand up, holding bracelets and feeling the fanciest. Melts me.

They are SO right for kids. JuniorBeads are the new line from Chewbeads. Chewbeads are the brilliantly SAFE, chewable necklaces that are perfect for new moms with babies that love to eat their mama's jewelry... Juniorbeads are the mini version for big kids!

Now, obviously with kiddo jewelry, safety is crucial! Yes, this covers all the bases: no BPA, PVC, no lead. All the way it should be. The clasp is breakaway, so if their necklace gets caught on anything, it detaches from the girls' neck immediately. For me this means I can allow my girls to climb trees in their accessories- worry-free!

ps. I kind of think the Chewbeads are a perfect gift for stylish new moms. No need to retire all the fabulous jewelry after having a baby after all! ;)

Thinking about: by Kate Brightbill

backtoschool.jpg

Last week I got totally emotional and had a crazy-mom moment... I'm talking tears folks. School is coming.

Here's the most embarrassing thing to admit: I got teary thinking of Sophie going to school next fall. No, not this fall. Next. I never have thought myself to be a teary type, but hey, things change. Kids change things. Kids growing up too fast change things. Ahhh.

I think the realization is just that once they go to school, they're literally gone five mornings a week. I won't be able to go in reverse and say "oh, let's do that time again!" Mornings are the best time for little dates at coffee shops, for walks and bus rides to parks and grocery stores, for staying in pj's until noon on Mondays... we're living the good life here.

I'm going to go ahead and appreciate the fact that getting into pre-school in San Francisco takes so much work and $$$ and about two years of advance application, so I didn't get my act together... and I'm going to soak in every moment of mornings together.

All sentiment aside: I LOVE the back-to-school vibe... all the school supplies really are serious fun, and they've only gotten better since I was in kindergarten, obviously.

Here's where you get the cute things above:

supply: notebook || colored pencils || desktop accessories

wear: sweater || oxfords || skirt

carry: backpack || water bottle || lunch box

ONE. TWO. THREE. FOUR. FIVE. SIX. SEVENEIGHT. NINETEN

I've mentioned before the fall is my favorite season, so maybe this is a little early, but I've been eyeing some REALLY cute stuff for the fall. This is just a portion of the cute back-to-school picks out there for the little girls. I especially love that most of the pieces can be worn interchangeably because they're all in a similar bright color tone!

So Good: Fall Tea Collection by Kate Brightbill

Tea Collection creates clothing that makes kids feel good.

Honestly, it can be tricky to dress a little girl, considering all of their opinions. I don't want to be "that mom" that doesn't allow their child creative liberties when they're getting dressed, but I also don't prefer they go out looking disheveled and like a crazy person...

Enter Tea Collection. I've written about Tea before and my love for the company keeps growing. They make dresses that look put-together, and are perfect for playing outside. Shirts that twirl. Necklaces that are bright and comfortable. Dots, florals, scribbles, stripes, pattern. All Tea.

Tea's signature is their global inspiration. Each season brings to life comfortable, wearable, beautiful clothing that is a distinct take on a new, beautiful place. The fall collection is inspired by modern day China. The mix of old world China, modern, vivid street art and water villages are blended into the gorgeous collection. The blends create cohesiveness between each of the pieces, yet each article brings its own unique interest to an outfit.

Sophie helped me pick an outfit for both of my girls, and we were VERY excited to see everything in person. For Maggie, we ordered:

We liked the bubble dress because it has adorable dots and the blue is good for Maggie's eyes. Tea set the dress apart from other blue polka dot dresses by cinching the bottom to create the adorable bubble effect. The pompom clip by my favorite Hello Shiso brings texture to the outfit, and just the right balance of color and personality.

Sophie picked for herself:

The yellow top swings much like her favorite shirt from the summer collection, and it has eyelet detailing on the top, so it was an easy top-pick for her. The loveable necklace is the perfect accessory because it's soft (it won't hurt if she twirls around!), bright, bold, and patterned... just like Sophie. The leggings have just the right balance of neutral and pattern to complete the look. They also have the right stretch for her to be perfectly comfortable all day.

I'm sure you want to see more of the pieces, so I put my favorites on a little board for you. I'd buy or recommend any and every one of these and feel great about it. Shop any of the looks using the 10% discount link below.
