How We Wear: Mini Boden {$250 Giveaway!} by Kate Brightbill

StyleSmaller + Mini Boden #bodenbacktoschool

Ahhh! Back to school! OR, in our case... to school for the first time ever! Kindergarten begins today, and I feel that perhaps I've cried all my tears in anticipation and I will be a brave grown-up who can handle the transition with grace.

If I'm a weepy mess, at least the girls will look put-together! ;) Let me tell you why:

Mini Boden has been a favorite brand of mine since I first saw their clothes a few years back. Their patterns are bright and beautiful. They have stylish and age-appropriate comfortable clothes and they sent a box of goodies for my sweet girls to try for themselves. The Boden box came in the mail and ahhhh! We were THRILLED! Squealing children is the best music. Let me tell you about the fun details...

Those coral boots? Not just coral boots. They're filled with the softest fluff a foot could imagine. Sophie and I couldn't believe how cozy they are! Maggie's gold "princess" shoes? She has only taken them off when we've forced her to. Floral leggings are perfect- and have a fun little different vibe that we love. Cable knit footless tight sets are cozy and go with everything. The sweaters are soft and thick {and lovely deep colors!}, and they have clearly paid attention to details on each piece.

I could go on and on, but let me stop and tell you the fun part! There is a Mini Boden GIVEAWAY below!! It's for $250, so you can just go ahead and enter and win the cutest and most well-made wardrobe for the fall. See the details below!

Currently Loving by Kate Brightbill

Actually, currently loving is about three and a half years "currently loving." It seems about right to finally write about these gems of children's footwear.

I tried several sandals on my baby Sophie when she started walking. Some fell off every three steps. Some gave her blisters. Some fell apart. Some just broke after three uses.

Then Saltwater Sandals came in the picture. A friend's daughter was wearing them and raved, and we got Sophie her first pair of Saltwaters. They never fell off. They became immersed in water, and molded to her feet and became more comfortable than ever. They would not fall apart regardless of hard use and long walks. We've never turned to another sandal since.

Maggie and Sophie get one pair of sandals annually, and these are them. If I'm going to write about small style, these deserve a post for themselves, and there you have it. It's about time! My one and only first-hand recommendation for kiddo sandals.

Regarding colors- the three pictured are our absolute top picks. Bright pink is the next runner up. We've never picked navy, but always, always considered them. They last forever and pass down incredibly. :) If sandals are what your child needs, these are the best!

Okay, so here's my new Monday series: favorites from my Shop, why I picked them for the shop, and how we love them around here.

First up! Tattly Animal Drivers set. Here's why I want them in the shop: they're good for boys AND girls, they LAST {about two weeks if they're in a spot away from the hands that get washed constantly}, and they're perfect for kids' parties! I ordered tattlys for Maggie's 2nd birthday party {which probably my favorite kid party I've thrown because it was so simple and entirely FUN!}, and used them to stick on the kiddos and bring smiles, and/or the kids can take 'em home with them in their goodie bags. Ah, goodie bags. Sophie insists that every single party we throw requires goodie bags, and I cannot justify buying tiny plastic bits and pieces and noisemakers that moms will be dying to throw away asap. It's fun to fill them with snacks {healthy-ish ones?}, stickers, and tattoos! Ps. these are veggie dyed with no toxins!

Maggie calls them stamps. I just call them fun.

Snag them over HERE.

Check out all the temporary tattoos we're loving & selling below!

Happy Monday!

There was a moment today that I realized my Whole 30 and national donut day will be colliding and nutrition is going to win. And I wanted to have a good cry because I'm on day 3 and I want out already. I miss cheese and I miss sour cherries, two of the best food creations known to man, and I love celebrating National days of utmost foodie importance. None of this qualifies as Whole 30 compliant.

I cannot make a blog called StyleSmaller entirely about food. Let's talk about something else, shall we?

Kids' style eh? Here's my cutie picking flowers like she does, in a dress covered in oranges.

How much do I love oranges? Excessively. How much do I love fruit-covered clothing for kids {and myself, for that matter?} Also excessively. In case you love summer fruit prints as much as I do, I've gathered my favorites for you:

So cute, right? I'm thinking Maggie would look juuuust right in that chambray number. So now I've created a post that has everything to do with small style and everything to do with nutrition, all in one.

I feel like Maggie has mastered the art of using of her baby blues to get whatever she wants.

Pictilio took all these beautiful pictures of my Maggie girl. I love Pictilio.

So- in other news- my shop has been opened almost a couple months, and I've been able to sample a few of the products... we hit the jackpot with these barrettes, my friends. My kids have crazy wispy and straight hair that is inconsolable with the average bobby pins. The ban.do pins have created a scenario where I can actually see both sets of their beautiful blue eyes daily, for the entire day without having to adjust every ten minutes. I love doubling them and mixing and matching color.

Snag those barrettes HERE! {also in pink / yellow / turquoise}.
