Red Saltwaters by Katie Brightbill

I'm a firm believer that I should get fewer pairs of shoes for my girls and just keep the the style neutral and  high quality. It took awhile to get to this point. When Sophie was a baby I wanted tons of shoes for her- different options for every different look. Makes sense right? She had tons of shoes and she wore one good pair of

pedipeds in about 95% of pictures from about six months to 15 months or so (she stayed a size 3 forever, conveniently enough!). It was then I realized the value of good quality shoes. I spend more, but end up spending less. Oh, and storing less. Win win. The Salt-Water sandals are SUCH a good buy. Not only do they not get ruined when they're in water, they actually mold more to your kids' feet! Love.

Also, neutral means different things to different people. For me red is neutral. It cheers basic colors, and blends well with most brights. I never think that colors need to be the exact same to truly match. It's more about the style matching and the colors not clashing... and to be honest, if they were brown or black and truly neutral, my child would never want to wear them. :) Dress: h&m Sweater: Crewcuts Sandals: Salt-Water Sandals

SF: Farmer's Market by Katie Brightbill

I'm going to be honest: sometimes my husband and I look at each other and say "lucky us!" Last weekend we had one of those moments. It was 70 degrees and sunny and we took a little trip to one of our favorite weekend spots: the Ferry Building.

We don't get there as much as we should, but every time we go, we're in bliss mode. Free samplings of organic fruit, veggies, cheeses, olive oils around every corner, gorgeous views, and ideal people-watching... does it get much better? Not so much. I was driving my husband nuts by taking a million pictures of fresh produce. "Kate you need another picture of the tomatoes?"... "Yes, yes Brian, I do." I have this great little plan to frame these shots and have a little gallery of pretty food in my dining room. We will see if it actually does get done. :)

Sooo, next time you find yourself near the Ferry Building with free time on a weekend, hop on over there. No regrets. Oh, and if you do-- the must-have is some Blue Bottle coffee-- wait for it-- in ice cream form (not pictured because it was gone wayyy faster than I could pull out my Rebel).

Ahhh.maz.ing.

Happy Weekend!

Rare Finds by Katie Brightbill

Cactus + Olive Mobile

I am a big fan of buying handmade one-of-a-kind products for my children. When I was planning the design for Cohen's room, I had a seriously hard time finding great unique pieces for a boy. Etsy is my go to spot for these types of products. When I was planning the design for Cohen's room I had a heck of a time finding great baby boy room decor that was not animals, sports or other typical boy decor. I turned to Etsy and found everything I needed. These are some of my favorites!

Review: Mimijumi Bottle by Katie Brightbill

I am exclusively breast feeding my baby boy. It is SO convenient... and so inconvenient at the same time. Cohen has been having maaaajor issues taking a bottle. I am an event designer, and with wedding season in full swing, it's become essential that I get him accustomed to bottles so he's able to eat during my long days at work!

I literally tried at least five different bottles and I was losing all hope... until a friend suggested the Mimijumi bottles. She absolutely swears by them and won't use anything else. At this point, there was nothing to lose but another $15, so I hopped on Amazon and ordered it. Thank you Mimijumi; Cohen was hooked! My hubby and I were able to get away the very same evening and for once we did not have to rush home in the middle of our anniversary date! Ahhh, such a relief!!

Moral of the story: if your baby won't take the bottle you have, learn from my trial and errors, & start by trying Mimijumi.
