I Love Links by Kate Brightbill

Here are ten of my favorite finds of the week around the good ol' internet:

I cannot even describe how much I love this spread. I want to dig into the cheese- like right now- actually all the food. It's like the perfect picnic.

I'm so intrigued by the endless uses of coconut oil that I bought some. The jar had yet to be opened, but this week a friend tweeted a link to this article, and I opened it the next day and I'm sure it'll be gone in no time (also- if you have additional suggestions on how you use coconut oil, I'd love to hear)!

The 'burbs battle. It's always a bummer when my city friends move away, so this totally resonated with me.

A simple, beautiful summer bucket list. One that isn't daunting. ;)

Oooh, they came out with a kid's version!

My favorite find on Pinterest this week. Seriously adorable.

I think I might do this for a birthday party goodie bag sometime. I mean, if I get my act together, the possibilities are endless and the price SO right.

This is what I'm craving right now. San Franciscans, have you tried it? Do you love it?

You guys, my new favorite site. SERIOUSLY. I want to pin and print EVERYTHING!!

Also super cute

This quote is what convinces me that it can be good to write about things that aren't lollipops and gumdrops.  (thanks B)

Last: if you haven't already, I'd love it if you'd follow me on Bloglovin'.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Kate

SF Loving: Dolores Park by Kate Brightbill

Dolores Park is super hyped these days, but it's legit hype. I mean, there's this brand new gorgeous playground that is PERFECT. Ages ago, my friends & I would have picnics there and occasionally watch a movie in the park, but now it's totally child-friendly too... as in: your children will ADORE you for taking them there.

Twisty tall slides, short sloooowww slides, climbing nets, swings, and everything in pristine condition because of the newness. Soph and I love to get super dizzy on the circles, and Maggie's favorite are the bouncing car things. A couple weeks ago, we grabbed burritos on a Friday night and picnicked as the sun set, and it could not have been more ideal. Actually, the wind wasn't awesome, but everything else was. There are a million good restaurants in the mission too (which I'll save for another day), so if the wind does pick up in the evenings, great options are everywhere.

Ohhh, and there are fabulous buildings in bright colors everywhere in the neighborhood. Endless perks to hanging in the mission. Also, whenever I take pictures of Mexican food (even if it is only a salsa bar- this one from El Toro), I look at them later and want to eat more Mexican food. I mean, seriously craving chips and salsa as I type. Hopefully I'm not the only one...

Also hoping I'm not the only one who thinks that neon doors are basically awesome. :)

Bits of Life by Kate Brightbill

To be perfectly honest, the month of May has felt like we've been just holding on for dear life as we go from here to there to there to here. I've been a bit of a distant blogger, but I'm excited about some fun little things we have going for June on this little blog.

I've was sooo spacey this month, and I think it has everything to do with having a busy mind. We had SO many great activities and dates and weddings and parties, and it was amazing, BUT the long weekend couldn't have been timed any better. This weekend was such a wonderful way to clear things and enjoy my little family time while Brian was off work. We thought we may have wanted to travel for the little holiday, but in reality, it was perfect to be home and relaxed and just enjoying one another.

We also managed to (unintentionally) keep the kids up late enough Sunday night for them to sleep in until 9am Monday. Whaaaat? Yes, I said it. It's true. We all slept that long for the first time in four and a half years. I am so rested!!! Amazing.

Hopefully I won't be spacey anymore, because now I have no excuse. ;)

In other news: this morning, Sophie asked for a lollipop and I said nope! She told me I'm breaking her heart. She also told me she has tickets for a flight to Africa and tickets to go down a chocolate slide while she's there, so I'm not putting too much stock in this particular heartbreak. Four is a perfectly entertaining age, if a bit dramatic. I think four and fourteen probably have a lot of parallels.

Maggie has decided her mama is a slacker and she should start potty training. Successfully. Crazy right? I think half of the reason she is so motivated is that it gives her opportunity to unroll the TP rolls and dip hand towels in the potty when I turn my head, but hey, we'll take our victories. If anyone has tips, by all means, I need them. I'm thinking I should encourage rather than discourage the process, but if you think it's better to just wait altogether, tell me.

So there's a little update on life. I'm getting SUPER organized for this blog in June and I'm looking forward to the consistency, rather than a smattering of miscellaneous postings on random days and times. :)

Happy four-day- week!

Love,

Kate
